For the second time this year, the club has been deeply saddened to hear of the loss of another friend. Andrew “Lanky” Havard, a former player of many years ago, and postman in nearby Gilwern for many years, passed away on Friday. Warm tributes to his character have been posted on our “Friends and Players” Facebook page. A true gentleman, kind and compassionate, our deepest sympathies to Tracey and family.

Former captain and full-back Kevin Buck, commented, “He would always help us out. On many occasions, after doing his postman job on a Saturday morning, he would be just about to settle down for a well earned pint, and I would call him up and he would say, “Crick rugby short again Kev? I will get my boots.” Another great gentleman who will be sadly missed by many, many people. RIP Lanky”
